If you’ve never been to the theater where the stage round and you can see the entire performance from all sides, this is called “theater in the round”.
The Music Circus in Sacramento at the Wells Fargo Pavilion is a great venue that brings in broadway shows all summer long. The venue even has deals with nearby restaurants where you can get a discount on food/drinks if you bring your same day ticket in and present it to the wait staff. Think - all inclusive date night!
My husband and I had the opportunity to attend the dress rehearsal of In The Heights and I was blown away. Between the choreography and music and set design, this is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. With music and lyrics by Lin Manuel Miranda (creator of smash Broadway hit “Hamilton”), In The Heights is a face paced love story and tribute to the Washington Heights neighborhood or barrio of New York, NY.
The show has won so many awards and my review is rudimentary at best, but we had an amazing time and the story was powerful and made me cry at the end - happy tears!
Do yourself a favor, see the show before it’s gone, which is on August 25, 2019. You don’t want to miss it!
